At long last, football is back!

While some teams played their first league game or final preseason friendlies last week, this weekend sees almost every age group from Fairford and Lechlade YFC in action.

Sunday at Horcott Road looks to be particularly busy with Kickstart and Under 7s training from 10am. The youngest group will be continuing their fun and games, developing ball skills, playing games and most importantly, having bags of fun. Coach Sarah Sloman is looking forward to welcoming all children aged 4-6.

Moving up the ages, the Under 7s will be continuing their development with another busy training session – they start at 10am and all children are welcome.

The Under 8 Falcons are at home while the Under 8 Hawks are away. The Falcons will be welcoming FC Abbey Meads to Horcott Road while the Hawks travel to Swindon for a game against another Abbey Meads side.

Our Under 9s will be playing near neighbours Cirencester Town with a 10:30 am kick. Sticking with a 10:30 kick-off the Under 10 whites will be facing Stratton Juniors, with the Under 10s reds away to Wims in Swindon, with an 11:45 kick-off.

With plenty of games as well as two training session, it’s going to be a busy morning! The kitchen will be open, serving up all the usual Match Snacks including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and of course, those all important bacon rolls!
