On Friday 5th September, FYFC held its ‘Welcome to Fairford’ pre-season social. 

On the eve of the season, the Club invited all registered children and their family and supporters to join us at Horcott for what is hoped will become a tradition for the Club. 

Registered players ate for free, with catering provided by Fairford’s own Outside Inn Company. 

Just over 50% of the Club’s registered players attended, making for a superb turnout on the night. For the full story, visit the Club’s website.

FYFC Chair Adam Sloman said “We’ve had a brilliant night and it’s been superb to see so many kids and families from across different age groups getting together. We need to do more events like this.”

As well as kicking off the 2025-2026 season, the evening marked the start of a year-long programme of events to celebrate the Club’s upcoming 50th anniversary, in 12 month’s time, in September 2026.

Club Secretary Jason Winter added ‘I played my youth football for Fairford as have a lot of people still in and around the town – we had some really good players, some great coaches and some superb teams right since the Club started in September 1976. We’re really excited to celebrate all of that over the next year.’
