Fairford and Lechlade Youth Football Club are thrilled to announce that Coventry City’s Player of the Season, Dom Hyam, will be joining the Club for Presentation Day on May 18th.
Dom began his football career in nearby Carterton, before joining Reading’s academy in 2008. Born in Scotland, Dom has won three caps for the Under 19s, and five for the Under 21s.
Having graduated from Reading, Dom moved to Coventry City in May 2017, playing a key role in the Sky Blue’s promotion from League Two with a Wembley Play-off final win in May 2018.
This season Dom has become one of the first names on the Coventry City team sheet, playing 38 matches, racking up over 3000 minutes on the pitch in the 2018-2019 season.
A strong, but fair centre-back, his no-nonsense style has seen him become a firm favourite with Coventry supporters, as he won both Player’s Player of the Season and overall Player of the Season at Coventry’s end of season awards.
Dom will join FLYFC’s coaches to hand out the Club’s awards as well as answer questions from FLYFC’s players on what it takes to make it as a professional footballer. Dom has also donated a matchworn Coventry City shirt to the Club’s Sports Memorabilia Auction.
FLYFC Chairman Adam Sloman said “We’re tremendously grateful to Dom for giving up his time to come and join us on Presentation Day. It’s a great opportunity for our players from every age group to spend some time with a professional. We’re very much looking forward to it.”
Presentation Day kicks off at 12, with the awards being given out from 12:30. As well as the awards, the Club will be offering snacks and drinks from Match Snacks, the Cotswold Chippy will be on hand with their superb fish and chips, SK Party Solutions will be bringing a selection of fun inflatables once again.
As well as all that, there’s a raffle and sports memorabilia auction, including signed Liverpool shirts, a Manchester United Captain’s armband, photographs, scarves and much, much more.
You won’t want to miss it!
