Working in conjunction with Cheltenham Town Community Trust and the FA Premier League, Fairford and Lechlade YFC will be launching free Girls football sessions, starting on Thursday 13th September at 5:30pm, at Horcott Road.
Funded by the Premier League, and delivered by the qualified coaches from Cheltenham Town Community Trust the sessions are for girls and young women from the age of 8 upwards and all are welcome, regardless of previous footballing experience.
FLYFC has several girls already playing at various levels, however the hope is these free sessions will add to the ranks of girls involved in football within our community.
This is part of a nationwide drive to get more girls playing football and aid the development of Women’s football in England.
The programme has two main objectives:
- To increase the number of women and girls playing football on a regular basis
- To increase the opportunities for women and girls to develop skills and confidence and progress within the pathway as a player, coach or official
The programme achieves this by providing a fun and informal environment, allowing participants to progress at their own pace and make friends at the same time.
If you’d like to register interest in the sessions, please email the Club.
