It may be the summer and the World Cup is about to kick-off, but that doesn’t mean things stop at Fairford and Lechlade YFC. The 2018-19 season will soon be upon us, and that means an opportunity for a new coach to take on the Club’s Under 14s side.
After several successful years, current coach Jon Gardiner is standing down, meaning a vacancy has been created.
“I’ve loved every minute of coaching the boys” said Jon, “unfortunately I am struggling time-wise to commit to the team, so I’ve decided to step down from my role as Coach.”
The team enjoyed a good season in the league in 2017-2018, finishing midtable in the North Wilts Youth League. “They’re a great team and a lovely bunch of lads” added Jon.
Jon is willing to support the new coach and offer a transitional approach to taking the team on and, as with all Fairford and Lechlade YFC coaches, full support for FA coaching, first aid and safeguarding is provided. As well as that the new coach can rely on the support and assistance of their fellow coaches right throughout the Club.
Interested parties are welcome to contact the club via email, or visit the upcoming Fairford Football Festival and Presentation Day on Saturday 23rd June at Horcott Road.
